A super cool and moderate summer made for a wine that is bright with acid but had enough time to hang in the vineyard to gain color and power. The majority of the Pinot Noir comes from the acclaimed St. Rita area giving the wine a beautiful red fruit component while the Santa Maria fruit gives it an unmistakable savory California Pinot nose. Complex enough to make you think but still easy to drink.
Medium ruby, the 2021 Fundamental Pinot Noir has inviting aromas of cranberry sauce, orange peel, licorice and loads of amaro-like accents. Medium-bodied, it’s silky and refreshing with a deep core of berry fruit and a long, layered finish. This is a lovely Pinot Noir with a notable quality-to-price ratio! Best After 2022
